On Fixation of Activated Random Walks

چکیده

We prove that for the Activated Random Walks model on transitive unimodular graphs, if there is fixation, then every particle eventually fixates, almost surely. We deduce that the critical density is at most 1. Our methods apply for much more general processes on unimodular graphs. Roughly put, our result apply whenever the path of each particle has an automorphism invariant distribution and is independent of other particles’ paths, and the interaction between particles is automorphism invariant and local. This allows us to answer a question of Rolla and Sidoravicius [2, 3], in a more general setting then had been previously known (by Shellef [4]).

A PRELUDE TO THE THEORY OF RANDOM WALKS IN RANDOM ENVIRONMENTS

A random walk on a lattice is one of the most fundamental models in probability theory. When the random walk is inhomogenous and its inhomogeniety comes from an ergodic stationary process, the walk is called a random walk in a random environment (RWRE). The basic questions such as the law of large numbers (LLN), the central limit theorem (CLT), and the large deviation principle (LDP) are ...

Effect of the Type of Ultraviolet on the Photocatalytic Removal of Xylene as a Pollutant in the Air Using TiO2 Nanoparticles Fixed on the Activated Carbon

Background and Objective: Currently, photocatalysts have become a major focus of research in physics, chemistry, and surface engineering. It is hoped that this science help to solve various environmental problems.  This study investigated the effect of ultraviolet lamp type on the removal efficiency of xylene utilizing the fixation of TiO2 nanoparticles on the activated carbon absorber and pass...

Mean-Potential Law in Evolutionary Games.

The Letter presents a novel way to connect random walks, stochastic differential equations, and evolutionary game theory. We introduce a new concept of a potential function for discrete-space stochastic systems. It is based on a correspondence between one-dimensional stochastic differential equations and random walks, which may be exact not only in the continuous limit but also in finite-state ...

Large Deviations for Random Walks in a Mixing Random Environment and Other (Non-Markov) Random Walks

We extend a recent work by S. R. S. Varadhan [8] on large deviations for random walks in a product random environment to include more general random walks on the lattice. In particular, some reinforced random walks and several classes of random walks in Gibbs fields are included. c © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Branching Random Walks and Their Applications to Population Studies

Recent investigations have demonstrated that continuous-time branching random walks on multidimensional lattices give an important example of stochastic models in which the evolutionary processes depend on the structure of a medium and the spatial dynamics. It is convenient to describe such processes in terms of birth, death, and walks of particles on the lattice. The structure of a medium is d...
